Connie Powers, Little Torch Key

We interviewed 87-year-old Connie Powers for our documentary, “Stories from the Overseas Highway.” Connie was a U.S. Army sergeant in WW II who moved to the Florida Keys as a single mom in the early 1970s, and began a lifelong project of decorating her house and creating art from found objects she collects while on her daily bike rides around her home.
